In a time when stress and uncertainty still define much of our lives, this former Cold War bunker in Utrecht is being given a completely new purpose. As part of a redesign assignment, the goal was to transform this space, once built to protect against nuclear threat, into a place of calm and care.

The result is the Spa Bunker: a peaceful retreat where visitors can unwind, recharge, and receive therapy. A space that replaces fear with healing, and tension with tranquility. From a symbol of conflict to a sanctuary for recovery, this is architecture with meaning.
